I first met Heather several months after she booked her wedding with us. We met at a Starbucks in DC near the Penn Quarter farmer’s market where I was picking up flowers. I knew right away that Heather was a bride that loved flowers. She was so excited to talk about the color, style and look of the flowers. I always love meeting with clients that love flowers like I love flowers.
Heather and Matt were married on a beautiful, late Spring afternoon at Thorpewood in Thurmont, Maryland. If you haven’t been to Thorpewood-you should go. It is a a beautiful, natural setting for a wedding. Everything about it has a cool, eco friendly vibe.
The bride carried a bouquet filled with peonies, ranunculus, bachelor buttons and vibrant green Solomon’s seal. The bouquet was wrapped simply in naturally colored raffia. Being a flower lover, Heather wanted to wear flowers in her hair. I brought a variety of flowers over to her hair dresser (an awesome guy sporting a kilt) for her to choose from. Heather later told me that she wore as many flowers in her hair as she could. One perfect white ranunculus was complemented by a cascade of lily of the valley and sweet smelling freesia. (there were cool, blue bachelor buttons on the other side too!)
Beautiful spring day for a wedding!
