Katie and Jim were a joy to work with. Their style and colors were perfect for this season’s early Spring flowers.
Katie looked so beautiful on her April wedding day. She carried a naturally shaped bouquet filled with white anemones, white snap dragons, white Star of Bethlehem, green hellebores, blue/purple anemones and blue iris. The style and feel of these flowers worked perfectly at the Audubon's Woodend Sanctuary in Rockville.
The ceremony center aisle, located in a beautiful grove of trees, was decorated with shepherd’s hooks and hanging mason jars. The jars were filled with white tulips, white ranunculus, white and yellow snapdragons, green hellebores, blue bachelor buttons and euphorbia.
The flower girls’ baskets were hand made and filled with blue iris, blue bachelor buttons, yellow snap dragons, white viburnum and white ranunculus.
The reception was decorated with a variety of mason jars filled with blue bachelor buttons, blue anemones, white ranunculus, creamy daffodils, white tulips and dusty miller.
I usually tell clients not to count on BLUE flowers. There are only a few blue flowers in nature and they are only blooming for a short period of time. Katie and Jim lucked out! The blues in this wedding were stunning!
We’re super grateful to the amazing Nathaniel and Rissa of Balance Photography. They are uber-talented and fun to work with. They are always generous with their photos and for that thank them! You can see a few more of their photos from Katie and Jim’s Wedding on our Flickr site.
Finally, congratulations to Katie and Jim! Thank you both for allowing Local Color Flowers to be a small part of your most special day. Wishing you much love and happiness in the years to come!
